We have reached the penultimate issue. It does appear that everything that seemed to be happening is actually happening. Adam Strange struck a deal with the Pykkt to attack Earth instead of Rann to protect his daughter. His acts of war crimes were merely for show but that in no way absolves him since he did murder thousands of Pykkt and he’s a traitor to Earth. If you’re a big Adam Strange fan and hate what Tom King did to Wally West in Heroes in Crisis, then you probably aren’t loving this series. Actually, it’s worse what’s happening to Adam since he planned out his actions while Wally had some bizarre mental breakdown.Personally, I have no emotional attachment to Adam Strange. To me, Adam Strange is just one DC character among hundreds so I wouldn’t be devastated if the character were sacrificed in service of a great story. Is this a great story? I would call it a compelling story. It’s certainly a lot better that Heroes in Crisis which I hated from very early on. What happened to Wally West was one of my lesser issues with the series. There is still one more issue for a swerve so we’ll see what happens.Issue #11 has an aggregate 8.0 on 9 profession reviews on ComicBookRoundup and an 8.3 User Score. Tom King continues to polarize reviewers with four scores 9.5 and high and two 4.0’s. The biggest question going into the final issues is whether or not there is going to be a twist. There are still unanswered questions for me and I’m not sure King is going to answer them. It would seem like it would be a hard choice for Adam to choose his daughter over the Earth, but it doesn’t feel like he’s bothered by it. In fact, when he commits acts of slaughter, he appears to be enjoying himself. Is Adam both a caring father and a sadist? We have one more issue to find out.
